Why this room

The mechanism is a deliberate, engineered misstatement of a single input for personal gain, a classic Fraud payoff structure with bounded upside for the perpetrator and effectively unbounded downside for the counterparty, and the loss materialized as a single fat-tail event, a near-total wipeout of the purchase price discovered abruptly through an unrelated operational trigger rather than through gradual, diffuse deterioration.
